ROWAN BYRNE BIO HISTORY IN SHORT.

Rowan Byrne, Irish Marine & Freshwater biologist has worked with endangered sea turtles around the world. He has appeared in a large number of TV programs and has written articles on worldwide issues.

     The site keeps you up-to-date with both Rowan's   current and pending published works, as well as his many and varied media activities. It also aims to give you a preview of his extensive stock library of photographs and video galleries of many marine creatures from around the world.

    Lots more photos are available, but are not listed on this website. Email Rowan to see if he can help out.  Examples are available from the South Pacific, Philippines, Australia, Bahamas, Mexico, Gulf of California, the Commonwealth of Dominica.

 In 2005 Rowan worked  with BBC Natural History Unit on a new series called "Secrets of The Caribbean" out winter 2006 and Disney while they were shooting Pirates of Caribbean 2 & 3. Most notable, was his work with National Geographic Channel Asia, which was aired during September 2002. This revolutionary project focused on work with globally endangered sea turtles and dugongs in the Philippines.  In 2006 Rowan worked and consulted on  a PBS documentary on his work in Dominica, with Patrick Mc Millian on the programme Expeditions, to be aired in the USA in April 2007.

 Since 2003 Rowan has regularly appeared on many programs on RTE & TV3 television & Radio, including, 'Mooney Goes Wild', 'Marian Finucane Show', 'News2days on the Den', 'Open House' and 'TV3 breakfast show'. In 2003 he had a weekly internet diary of events called 'Rowan's Turtle Diaries', on RTE Radio. Media publications  include many wildlife articles in 'Wild Ireland Magazine', 'Eco magazines', 'SUBSEA  magazine' and newspapers around the world.
